An Old Posting Inn once called the 'Venus Ale House', and later renamed 'The Rising Sun'.
The Pub was once much larger and included Queens House next door and was known as the 'Cinque Ports Hotel'. One of the many breweries in Old Seaford was directly behind
The Cinque Ports, so barrels were delivered straight into the cellar via a chute! The pub is known to be haunted...

Seaford Head Community College
Seaford Head Community College is a forward-looking school with traditional values. We prepare students for the future and give them opportunities that are advanced by any standards, yet we also believe that high expectations and an awareness of traditions are very important. We aim to achieve excellence - excellence for all our students and excellence in all areas of the school.
Seaford Head Community College is a co-educational comprehensive school for students aged 11 to 18 years and has over 1000 students. The school has a long history and has existed since the 19th century, becoming a comprehensive in 1972 and achieving Community College status in May 1993. As such, we seek to provide a rich and co-ordinated educational service for the Seaford community.
Specialist Status designation in September 2007 has enabled us to refurbish three new Science Laboratories, a new Dance Studio, a Climbing Wall and upgraded two ICT rooms. There are now plans for a multi-purpose Sports Hall to be built on the Steyne Site, opening in September 2010.
Over the next few years, the Governors and staff have been united in a common aim to raise standards of student achievement through high quality teaching and learning. The school promotes excellent behaviour and positive attitudes.
We have a dedicated staff who are committed to providing the best possible education for all our students that will increase their life chances and deliver excellent student outcomes. High academic achievement is essential if our students are going to be able to compete in an ever changing international job market.
We value all of our students and believe that they will do well in a caring, disciplined and ordered environment. In response, we ask all students to respect the values on which the community is based. Fundamental to this is an expectation that all students will work hard, be courteous and show respect for others.

The theatre is also fitted with a hearing loop and has facilities for the disabled, including toilets.
We put on four plays a year which run the gamut from broad farce to subtle thrillers, gentle comedies, all time Classics and serious drama.
Whatever the play, our aim is to provide the local community with an opportunity to see a varied arena of dramatic entertainment that has been produced to the highest possible standard.
