An evening of poetry at the Crypt Gallery, Tuesday 6 September, 7:30 pm, part of Seaford Live! 2011. Readers include: Peter Martin, reading from his latest collection, Ghost Music, poetry informed by the history of Seaford and the Cuckmere Valley Rachel Playforth, contributor to the Frogmore Papers Ralph Taylor, reading from his late wife Pam Hughes\'s work. Her last collection was Shadows on the Downs Other readers are welcome and there will be an open mic sessions as part of the evening. Please contact the MC, Tom Roper, if you would like to read. Admission: £3, to include a glass of wine. The Crypt Gallery is at 23 Church Street, Seaford, BN25 1HE , just down the road from St Leonard's Church. Everyone welcome to join a friendly evening devoted to books and reading. The event will include a discussion of 'Half Of A Yellow Sun" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Pick up your free copy from Seaford Library. No pressure to join in – just come and listen if you prefer. We plan a paperback swop so bring along any books you wish to donate, also a light-hearted quiz, and any local Book Group members will be invited to tell us something about their recent reading highlights. Cold refreshments will be available and we aim to enjoy an informal evening.

As part of the Lewes Artwave eighteen artists and makers from Seaford and beyond are coming together at 54 Stafford Road to present a fantastic show of visual art and handcrafted gifts, including photograph, paintings, textile art, ceramics and jewellery.

We also have activities for children in the garden, amazing cakes, back massage and vinyl rock n' roll on sale.
